What is the Society of Benefactrix? Our CEO Faye Washington, along with her staff, Board members, and Donors showed up and showed out to introduce our brand new Fund Development department’s great new way to recognize those special individuals who epitomize the core values of the YWCA of Greater Los Angeles; peace justice, freedom, and dignity for all people. These individuals embrace the issues facing women and girls of our community and diligently set about to make a difference. And, the beauty of the program is that it keeps donors connected to the Y’s issues for at least 9 years.

The Society of Benefactrix has only been around since October 2000 and it is already gaining attention from other organization as well as raising eyebrows of some of Los Angeles well established philanthropic individuals. Businesses and individuals are calling and asking how they can be apart of the Society.


Our excellent recognition program offers many perks and gifts for all levels. We encourage you to not only become apart of a Society of women who are well known for the work they do in the community but to also support the YWCA’s much needed programs.
