The YWCA of Greater Los Angeles has a long history of community activism, taking stands on various issues on behalf of women and women's rights, joining advocacy groups and working with elected officials to make a difference in the lives of the women we serve.
The YWCA movement has always understood the connection between providing services and acting to change societal conditions that create the need for those services. Being active in Public Policy issues enables the YWCA to challenge the status quo and advocate for change on issues that are consistent with our commitment to serve as a vehicle for the empowerment of women and girls and the elimination of racism.
