Infant/Toddlers

Serving teen parents from San Fernando High School and the McAlister Pregnant Minor Program is the North Valley Infant Learning Center. The North Valley Child Development Center expanded its services in 2002 and now serves infants and toddlers. This program is located on the campus of San Fernando High School and it provides opportunities for developmental, educational and social experiences beginning at a very early age. The curriculum is adapted to meet the needs of the infants and toddlers. Nutritional meals and snacks are served daily. Parent participation is a major component of the center with parents involved in classroom activities as well as the advisory board.

Community linkages with the LAUSD at San Fernando High School are crucial to the success of the program and as such, school counselors and the Health Center are an integral part of the program structure. The Department of Social Services and the Child Care Resource Center provide support for our teen students as they become ready to graduate from High School and find resources for living and working in the community.
