school age

On two school sites, children ages 5-12 are taught skills for developmental competence in communications and conflict resolution, physical motor development and effective learning. The program allows qualified parents to receive financial subsidies from the California State Department of Education so they may continue working or participating in a training program during the times their elementary school children are out of class.

The age appropriate curriculum revolves around individual needs and includes music, science, reading, math and art activities. It also offers nutritional meals and snacks daily. Parent participation is highly encouraged in parent advisory meetings.

The program's primary link with the Los Angeles Unified School District allows children to enroll in the program while off-track and attend local public elementary schools. The off-track model is a full day, year-round program. Currently, services are offered at two locations: ANGELES MESA, and NORTH VALLEY.

Children ages 5-12 develop skills in:

  • Communication and conflict resolution
  • Social competency including tolerance
  • Physical and motor development
  • Effective learning and Homework completion
