ABOUT THE YWCA UNION PACIFIC EMPOWERMENT CENTER:The YWCA Union Pacific Empowerment Center is a partnership between the YWCA Greater Los Angeles and the Office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina. Established in 2002, the center was designed to fill the need for affordable childcare in an unincorporated section of East Los Angeles. The new two-story facility was completed in 2009 and features double the child development spaces, a community center and commercial kitchen.
