Joanne Mathew
Chief Financial Officer
Joanne Mathew is a Certified Public Accountant with more than 20 years of dedicated experience in the nonprofit sector. She began her career in Toronto, Ontario with Partners International Canada before relocating with her family to California in 2012. Since then, she has held progressively senior leadership roles, including serving as Director of Finance and Risk Management for the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles.
In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, Joanne was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises, an auxiliary of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where she oversaw enterprise-wide financial strategy, compliance, leadership and organizational collaboration. In September 2024, she joined YWCA Greater Los Angeles as Interim CFO and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in June 2025. In this role, she leads the organization’s financial strategy, ensures compliance across complex funding streams, and supports long-term organizational sustainability.
Joanne holds a Master’s Degree in Commerce and has lived and worked in four countries, bringing a global perspective to her leadership. Her international background and extensive nonprofit and corporate finance experience inform her balanced approach to stewardship—combining rigor, transparency, and vision to ensure that resources are managed responsibly in service of mission and impact.
